BoA CD rates for a standard investment of 1-year will yield an APY of 0.65% whereas the 6-month investment will return an APY of 0.35%. An 18-month investment will yield 0.85% whereas a 2-year investment will return 1.11%.

There can be changes in current cd rates due to a number of factors. As of May 15, 2010, a 3-year investment return s an APY of 1.75% and a CD of 4-years will also yield 2.01%.

The highest CD rates at the bank are available for the 5-year CD. It yields the highest APY of 2.51%. There is also a 10-year CD that offers the same APY of 2.75%.

If you are looking for the highest CD Rates then do consider the IRA investments. They offer the highest APYs at 3.01% for a 10-year investment. IRA also yields 2.75% for a 5-year investment and 2.25% for a 4-year CD; investment in three year CD will return an APY of 2.01%. Bank of America has the standard rules and regulations with this investment. It imposes penalties in case of early withdrawals.

Today, we here at Highest CD Rates Info are going to update you on the latest in Bank of America CD rates. We’ll start with the promotional offers.

*Editor’s Note: this is an older article, and we have recently updated our research about current Bank of America CD Rates. For our latest article on Bank of America Certificate of Deposit Rates, please see the following page: Bank of America CD Rates

The promotional offers for BoA CD rates require a $5,000 minimum deposit to open and maintain. The promotional offer right now is for a 12 month term and gives current CD rates of 1.00% annual percentage yield (APY).

Another promotional offer in Bank of America certificate of deposit rates is the Risk Free CD, which also has a $5,000 minimum to open. This CD gives 0.50% APY for a 9 month term and allows you to close the account at any time, but has an auto-renewal of a like term at standard rates.

Finally, the Opt Up special Bank of America CD rates are for an 18 month term at 1.10% APY. This account allows you to upgrade to a higher rate (should one appear) once during the term.

Standard CDs start with 7-27 day terms with a minimum deposit of $5,000. These have BoA CD rates of 0.30% APY for up to 89 days in term. The rate rises to 0.35% APY for 90-179 days and to 0.40% APY for 6-11 months. Current CD rates for 12-17 months are 0.85% APY, 18-23 months are 0.95% APY, and 24-35 months gives 1.35% APY.

Highest CD rates for BoA offers are in 36-47 month terms at 1.85% APY, 48-59 month terms at 2.25% APY, 60-119 month terms at 2.51% APY, and 120 month terms at 3.51% APY. These are nationally competitive and good Bank of America CD rates.

Bank of America is FDIC insured, of course, and current CD rates can change at any time. So if you like any of these BoA CD rates, lock yours in now.

As we look at banks that are changing, Highest CD Rates Info has noticed that some are changing for the better and others are not. Most of the time, it is up to you to decide which is happening with a particular bank, since some people have different needs than others. Today, we’re looking at Bank of America CD rates, which we haven’t done for some time. You decide of the change is for the better.

*Editor’s Note: this is an older article, and we have recently updated our research about current Bank of America CD Rates. For our latest article on Bank of America Certificate of Deposit Rates, please see the following page: Bank of America CD Rates

The biggest change in BoA CD rates is what is being offered. Rather than offering a tier of rates according to terms and deposits, as most banks do, the new Bank of America certificate of deposit rates are based only on the type of CD you choose. Your terms (length) are up to you and the amount of deposit depends on minimum balance requirements for each CD type.

That might sound complicated or hard to understand, but let’s look at current CD rates at Bank of America and what’s offered today.

A High Yield CD is an online-only offer for BoA CD rates online. This account has a minimum balance requirement of $5,000 to open and maintain, but the term (length) of the CD is up to you. You can get a 3 month or longer term, at your discretion, and it will pay a fixed 1.55% annual percentage yield (APY). No matter the length of term.

The other Bank of America CD rates offered are on Risk Free CD accounts. These have a $5,000 minimum deposit requirement and yield a 0.65% APY no matter the term (length) of the CD. They are risk free as you can open them for a three year term, but withdraw at any time without penalty. Hence the lower rate.

Bank of America is, of course FDIC insured.

It has been a while since we here at Highest CD Rates Info took our last look at Bank of America CD Rates. So, we decided it was time to update our research on CD rates at Bank of America. We were a bit surprised with what we found.

*Editor’s Note: this is an older article, and we have recently updated our research about current Bank of America CD Rates. For our latest article on Bank of America Certificate of Deposit Rates, please see the following page: Bank of America CD Rates

In fact, what our research on CD rates at Bank of America showed us will make this a pretty short article: we did not find any Bank of America CD Rates over 2.10 percent Annual Percentage Yield (APY). Clearly, this is nowhere near the highest CD rates currently available.

So, currently we cannot recommend buying a Bank of America certificate of deposit. However, be sure to check back with us — as CD interest rates can change very quikly and can vary by geographic location.

Bank of America is one of the largest commercial banks in the United States, and has a wide range of savings accounts and certificates of deposit that it offers. Therefore, we here at Highest CD Rates Info decided to take a look at current Bank of America CD Rates to find the highest CD rates possible for your money.

*Editor’s Note: this is an older article, and we have recently updated our research about current Bank of America CD Rates. For our latest article on Bank of America Certificate of Deposit Rates, please see the following page: Bank of America CD Rates

Of the CD rates Bank of America offers, right now they are featuring a Bank of America High Yield CD. This short term CD has a term of seven months. The CD interest rate is 3.06 percent, giving it an Annual Percentage Yield (APY) of 3.10 percent. Bank of America calls this a “special online only CD rate”. The Bank of America High Yield CD requires a minimum deposit of $5,000. All in all, this strikes us as a pretty respectable rate for such a short-term certificate of deposit.

Bank of America has many other certificates of deposit available also. The most interesting to us is a 60 month Bank of America Standard Term CD. This 5 year CD has an interest rate of 3.94 percent, and an Annual Percentage Yield of 4.01 percent, and has a minimum required investment of only $1,000.

Bank of America certificates of deposit are insured by the FDIC to the maximum amount allowed by law. CD rates can vary by region and change with time, so please do be sure to check the Bank of America web site to confirm the rates and terms available in your area.
