Citibank is one of the most reliable and trustworthy banks in the US today. The CDs offered by Citibank have one of the highest CD rates in the market today and they also have variable term periods ranging from 3 months to five years. The most convenient aspect of these CDs is that they can be opened and managed online.

*Editor’s Note: this is an older article, and we have recently updated our research about current Citibank CD Rates. For our latest article on Citibank Certificate of Deposit Rates, please see the following page: Citibank CD Rates

Other salient features of this savings option is that they are insured by FDIC for a sum of $250,000 per investor and a Citibank Banking Card comes along with this account. This card can be used to access ATMs and to manage the deposits by phone or through the Internet. A minimum deposit of $500 is required to open the account online and the interest will be paid monthly or at the time of maturity, in the case of deposits whose term period is less than one year. In the case of CDs that have a term period of more than one year, the interest is paid monthly. It also renews automatically at the time of maturity, unless explicitly specified by the investor.

The current CD rates for a 5-year term is 2.50% APY for all amounts. The Citibank CD rates for 3-month and 4-month period is 0.25% and for a 5-month, 6-month and 7-month period, it is 0.35%. The Citibank certificate of deposit rates for a 8-month, 9-month and 10-month term period is 0.50%. It is 0.95% for 12-month period and 1.01% for a 13-month period. The rates are 1.05% for 18-months, 1.25% for 2-years, 1.50% for 3 years and 2.00% for 4 years respectively. These rates are competitive and this makes this option very attractive.

Today, we here at Highest CD Rates Info are taking a look at Citibank CD rates. We haven’t looked at the Citibank certificate of deposit rates offers in a while, so it was overdue for us to do so.

*Editor’s Note: this is an older article, and we have recently updated our research about current Citibank CD Rates. For our latest article on Citibank Certificate of Deposit Rates, please see the following page: Citibank CD Rates

There are several terms for current CD rates at Citibank right now. They start at 3 months and go out to five years. All of these require an opening deposit and maintained balance of $500. We’ll start at the beginning and list the annual percentage yield (APY) for each term.

For the short terms, Citibank CD rates for three and four months are 0.35% APY, for 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 months it’s 0.65% APY.

For a one year term, the return for highest CD rates at Citibank is 1.30% APY. The 13 month drops to 1.01% APY, but jumping up to 18 months raises Citibank certificate of deposit rates to 1.35% APY.

Current CD rates for a two year term are 2.00% APY, but drop down to 1.25% APY for a 30-month term. At three years, it rises back up to 2.15% APY for good Citibank CD rates.

Four year terms yield a 2.40% APY and five year terms give highest CD rates of 3.00% APY.

Overall, current CD rates at Citibank are generally competitive nationally. Some are low and some are up there competing with the highest CD rates available. There are some great Citibank CD rates right now, so if you see any you like, lock yours in today. Current CD rates change often.

Citibank is FDIC insured to the fullest extent of the law.

Our last Citibank CD rates update showed that the bank has some pretty good numbers still. Given the popularity of this large bank with our readers here at Highest CD Rates Info, we are endeavoring to keep up with their changes. So here are the latest updates in Citi CD rates.

*Editor’s Note: this is an older article, and we have recently updated our research about current Citibank CD Rates. For our latest article on Citibank Certificate of Deposit Rates, please see the following page: Citibank CD Rates

Right now, the best Citibank certificate of deposit rates are on 6-month and 12-month terms. The six month term is giving a 1.01% annual percentage yield (APY), which is very competitive in this short-term market. The one year terms reward 1.70% APY, which is very good for a relatively short one year investment.

As a comparison, that six month term is the same as the 18-month term at 1.01% APY and that one year term is just under the two year term current CD rates of 1.75% APY at Citibank. Compared to the 1.25% APY of the Citi CD rates on the 3 year term, that’s extremely good.

For the longer-term investor, the highest CD rates at Citi right now are the 5-year term at 3.00% APY, which is nationally competitive. Compared to current CD rates on 4-year terms at only 1.75% APY, it’s probably worth the extra year for the longer-term investor.

All of these Citibank CD rates require only a $500 minimum investment to open without fees. All Citibank accounts are FDIC insured to the fullest extent of the law, of course.

If any of these Citi CD rates appeal to you, lock in your highest CD rates now before they change. All Citibank certificate of deposit rates are subject to change at any time.

When we last looked at Citibank CD rates, they were running a special on a 12-month term certificate of deposit with a 2.50% annual percentage yield (APY). This and other Citibank certificate of deposit rates have changed, so we here at Highest CD Rates Info are here to bring you up to date.

*Editor’s Note: this is an older article, and we have recently updated our research about current Citibank CD Rates. For our latest article on Citibank Certificate of Deposit Rates, please see the following page: Citibank CD Rates

The one year special Citibank CD rates are now 2.25% APY with a minimum deposit of only $500 to open. This rate holds for all deposit amounts from the minimum to over $100,000 (Jumbo).

Other Citibank certificate of deposit rates worth noting are the six month term rate at 1.01% APY as well as the highest CD rates for two year terms at 1.75% APY. By far the one to look at most if you’re looking for longer-term returns with the highest CD rates is the Citibank CD rates for five year terms, which give a 3.00% APY.

All Citibank CD rates are for deposits of $500 or more for the terms given. Many of these are good returns and some of the highest CD rates available nationally for the term, so they’re worth looking into. All Citibank account are FDIC insured to the fullest extent of the law.

If any of these seem right for you, lock your rate in now before Citibank CD rates change again.
