The current CD rates include the 18 month CD that is earning an APY of 0.05%, 0.25% and 0.50% respectively.

The 2 year CD is earning an APY of 0.25%, 0.35% and 0.60%. The best CD rates are from the 5 year CD that is presently earning an APY of 1.00%, 1.25% and 1.50%.

Each of these CDs requires a minimum deposit of $1,000. These same rates are available for IRA CD but the minimum deposit is only $250.

There is also the 15 month breakable CD which you can make a withdraw from the account once with no early withdraw penalty being assessed against the account. This CD is earning an APY of 0.10%, 0.10% and 0.55% respectively. $10,000 is required to obtain this CD rate.

The citizen Bank CDs are in a tiered format.  This is based on your association with another bank account with Citizens and not the amount you place on deposit. The lowest rates are given when you have no other account open with Citizen Bank. Then there are the Circle accounts and the highest is from the Gold Circle account holders.

The Citizens Bank certificate of deposit rates are in a tiered format that is not based on deposit amounts, but your status with the bank as to which other types of accounts you have currently open with them. There are the standard CD rates, the rates for those that are Circle Banking customers and those that are Circle Gold Banking customers.

The current CD rates include the 18 month CD that is earning an APY of 0.50%, 0.75% and 1.00% respectively. The best CD rates are form the 5 year CD that is presently earning an APY of 1.50%, 1.75% and 2.00%. Both of these CDs require a minimum deposit of $1,000.

There is another type of CD at Citizens Bank. This is the Breakable CD with a 15 month term. This CD is set up in the same tiered format that is earning an APY of 0.25%, 0.25% and 0.60% respectively. The minimum deposit for this CD is $10,000. This CD also allows for a one time withdraw of the funds from the account. This can be full or partial without any early withdraw penalty.

A 15-months CD yields 0.75% whereas a 2-year CD at the bank returns an APY of 1.00%. A 3-year CD offers an APY of 1.50%. A 4-year CD investment will return an APY of 1.70% and 5-year CD yields 2.00%.

Citizen CD rates for premium accounts are relatively higher than the standard investments. Circle banking customers of the bank can benefit from an APY of 0.85% for a one year CD. Customers with Circle Gold banking accounts will receive an APY of 1.10% on the same investment.
