The HSBC Bank CD rates were found to be one of the few from American financial institutions that have not been reduced since the last visit by Highest CD Rates. One of the reasons might be that their HSBC Bank certificate of deposit rates were already near the bottom of what was being offered by anyone across the nation.

To obtain the stated rates a minimum deposit of $1,000 must be made to open a CD account. This amount is set for all of the fixed term CD accounts being offered by HSBC.

The current CD rates available online include the 3 month CD that is earning an APY of 0.05%. The 4 month CD is earning an APY of 0.05%.

The 6 month CD is earning an APY of 0.10%. The 7 month CD is earning an APY of 0.10%. The 8 month CD is earning an APY of 0.10%.

The 9 month CD is earning an APY of 0.10%.The 11 month CD is earning an APY of 0.10%. The 1 year, plus a day CD is earning an APY of 0.20%.

These HSBC CD rates are available online, by phone or at the local HSBC branch office. These rates were posted on September 9, 2011 but are subject to change without notice.

Here at Highest CD Rates Info, we know that our readers are interested in keeping up to date on offers from banks like HSBC CD rates. So once again we’re bringing you the latest in CD account rates at HSBC.

*Editor’s Note: this is an older article, and we have recently updated our research about current HSBC CD Rates. For our latest article on HSBC Certificate of Deposit Rates, please see the following page: HSBC CD Rates

Right now, there are HSBC certificate of deposit rates for terms from 3 months to 2 years. All require a minimum $1,000 to open and maintain without maintenance fees. Rates are relatively low when compared to more nationally competitive banks, however.

For a 3 month term, HSBC CD rates are 0.05%, as they are with a four month term. 6 months to 11 months have current CD rates of 0.10% APY. Accounts with terms from 1 year to 15 months have highest CD rates of 0.90% APY and a two year term has a 0.50% APY.

Special in-branch rates on 4-10 year terms are also available. These HSBC CD rates are at 1.10% APY. Other special terms for in-branch CD account rates and offers are also available, though none better than what has already been listed.

HSBC is an international bank with branches all over the U.S. and other countries. HSBC is fully FDIC insured. All rates are variable until locked in and can change at any time.

The aim of this blog is to bring you the best CD rates available in the market today along with its features and benefits. We believe this information about the highest CD rates offered by the different banks will help you to make an informed financial decision. In this series, we will discuss about HSBC certificate of deposit rates.

*Editor’s Note: this is an older article, and we have recently updated our research about current HSBC CD Rates. For our latest article on HSBC Certificate of Deposit Rates, please see the following page: HSBC CD Rates

The current HSBC Bank CD rates for a term of 3 months and 4 months is 0.05%. The rates for a 6,7,8,9 and 11-month CD is 0.10%. The HSBC CD rates for a 1-year, 13-month and 15-month CD is 0.40% while the interest rate for a 2-year CD is 0.75%. These rates are for CDs that are opened through the Internet and for CDs opened through the phone or at the local branch, the rates are slightly different. The CD interest rates are 0.05% for a term of 3 to 6 months and 0.10% for a period of 6 months to 1 year. For a period of 1 year to 15 months, the rates are 0.40% while the rates are 0.75% for a period of 2 to 4 years. From 4 to 10 years, the CD interest rates are 1.70%.

The minimum amount required to open a CD account with HSBC is $1,000 and there is a penalty for early withdrawal. So, it is a good idea to think twice about your financial goals and plans before investing. Otherwise, you may end up losing some part of the interest money towards penalty. Overall, the CDs have good features and a competitive interest rate and it can be an attractive avenue for investing your funds.

*Editor’s Note: this is an older article, and we have recently updated our research about current HSBC CD Rates. For our latest article on HSBC Certificate of Deposit Rates, please see the following page: HSBC CD Rates

CD account rates are now considered a premium indicator of any financial institution. Customers like to do business with banks and financial institutions that offer the best rates and have other perks and benefits. The current cd rates offered by HSBC are one of the lucrative ones in the industry.

HSBC CD Rates for 3 months investment are currently estimated at 0.15% with a minimum investment of $1,000. HSBC certificate of deposit rates for 6 months certificate are priced at 0.50%. A 9-month investment in these certificates yields 0.75% APY.

Standard investment of one year offers an APY of 1.25% while the minimum deposit remains the same at $1,000. A 2-year investment offers a lower return at 1.10% APY. HSBC offers a complete online solution for the opening of CD accounts. They offer a simple registration form that is necessary to be completed before the opening of accounts. Usernames and passwords are generated through this form that is later used for gaining entry into the secure features of HSBC website.

HSBC also offers branch and telephone deposit CD accounts but they offer lower rates. A 1-year investment only yields 0.55% whereas two to four year investments returns 0.75% APY. CD rates for investments of four years to 10 years are slightly higher at 1.01%. Customers with Premium checking accounts will receive higher APY for these certificates. They will receive an APY of 2.00% for an investment of 4-10 years whereas 2-4 year investment certificates will return 1.05%.

We haven’t looked at HSBC CD rates in quite a while, so we here at Highest CD Rates Info thought it was about time we did so to bring you the latest. We looked at current CD rates and found that overall, the HSBC Bank certificate of deposit rates right now are not very competitive nationally.

*Editor’s Note: this is an older article, and we have recently updated our research about current HSBC CD Rates. For our latest article on HSBC Certificate of Deposit Rates, please see the following page: HSBC CD Rates

To open a CD account at HSBC a minimum deposit of $1,000 is required and terms range from 3 months to 2 years. The highest CD rates are with the special, online-only offer that HSBC Bank CD rates offers for a one year term at 1.35% APY. In-branch, however, a one year and one day CD gets 1.50% APY, so the extra day is worth the higher rate.

Other current CD rates at HSBC are the short term 3 and 4 month rates at 0.15% APY, the 6, 7, and 8 month terms at 0.50% APY. 9 and 11 months returns 0.90% APY while 1 year and 1 day or a 13 month term get 1.50% APY, as does a 15 month special term. For a two year commitment, the HSBC Bank CD rates drop to 1.30% APY.

Again, these HSBC CD rates are barely average nationally with the exception of that one year and one day offer. The highest CD rates on other terms will likely be found elsewhere.

HSBC Bank is FDIC insured to the fullest extent of the law. If any of these HSBC CD rates appeal to you, lock yours in today. Current CD rates change often and without notice.

As the largest banking firm in the world, HSBC is truly a bank with a global presence. Therefore, those of us here at Highest CD Rates Info were curious to review HSBC CD rates to see what the highest CD rates are that they have to offer. There are essentially three types of HSBC CDs: (1) HSBC Term CDs; (2) HSBC Right Choice CDs; and (3) HSBC Direct Online CDs.

*Editor’s Note: this is an older article, and we have recently updated our research about current HSBC CD Rates. For our latest article on HSBC Certificate of Deposit Rates, please see the following page: HSBC CD Rates

The HSBC Term CD comes in a variety of different terms. The main HSBC Term CD that caught our interest was the “4 to 10 years less 1 day” CD, which gives you an Annual Percentage Yield of 3.55 percent. That is not too bad, in our opinion, for a long term CD, especially when you consider that this certificate of deposit has a minimum deposit of only $1,000.

The HSBC Right Choice CD is a 1 year CD with a minimum deposit of $1,000 that allows you to change the rate once during the 12 month term, provided that interest rates go up. That’s a nice option, but with a starting Annual Percentage Yield of only 1.75 percent, this CD really does not appeal that much to us.

The HSBC Direct Online CD comes in two different term lengths: 6 months and 9 months. The 6 month HSBC Direct CD has an Annual Percentage Yield of 3.30 percent and requires a minimum deposit of $5,000. The 9 month HSBC Online CD has an Annual Percentage Yield of 3.40 percent, and also requires a minimum investment of $5,000.

So, you definitely have a lot of options when it comes to HSBC CD rates. Please see the HSBC web site to confirm the CD interest rates and other terms available in your city, as rates and terms can change quickly and differ by location.
