It has been a while since we took our last look at Citibank CD rates. While Citi has been going through some tough times lately, it is still around and its deposits are insured per FDIC requirements. So, Highest CD Rates Info thought we would take a fresh look at CD rates at Citibank.

*Editor’s Note: this is an older article, and we have recently updated our research about current Citibank CD Rates. For our latest article on Citibank Certificate of Deposit Rates, please see the following page: Citibank CD Rates

The Citibank 12 Month CD earns an interest rate of 2.47 percent, which translates into an Annual Percentage Yield (APY) of 2.50 percent. This Citibank CD only requires a minimum deposit of $500, which is very low (in our opinion) for this interest rate. The Citibank Jumbo CD earns the same rate, but requires a deposit of $100,000. This Citi bank CD rate is one of the highest CD rates currently available for a 1 year CD.

The other Citibank certificate of deposit that caught out attention is the Citi 5 year CD. This Citi CD earns an interest rate of 3.25 percent and an APY of 3.30 percent. This CD is also insured in accordance with FDIC requirements, and again, the Citi 5 year jumbo cd rates are the same as the non-jumbo CD rates.

So, if you are looking for a 1 year or 5 year certificate of deposit with some of the highest bank CD rates around, then you should take a look at the CD rates at Citibank. Please be sure to visit the Citi Bank online banking web site, to see the current rates and terms available in your area, as CD rates can change quickly and vary with location.

Many people know E-Loan as an online lending company. However, E-Loan also offers some high yield savings accounts and certificates of deposit, so those of us here at Highest CD Rates Info decided to look into E-Loan CD rates to see what the best CD rates are that they currently offer.

*Editor’s Note: this is an older article, and we have recently updated our research about current ELoan CD Rates. For our latest article on E-Loan Certificate of Deposit Rates, please see the following page: E-Loan CD Rates

The E-Loan 1 Year CD earns an interest rate of 3.20 percent and an Annual Percentage Yield of 3.25 percent. To us that seems like a pretty attractive rate for a 12 month CD these days. If you are looking for a long term CD, the E-Loan 5 Year CD bears an interest rate of 4.07 percent and an APY of 4.15 percent; and the E-Loan 6 Year CD has an interest rate of 4.21 percent and an APY of 4.30 percent.

The minimum deposit for standard E-Loan CDs is $10,000. While there are E-Loan Jumbo CDs, the jumbo CD rates at E-Loan are currently the same as the other CD rates at E-loan.

If you are looking for a certificate of deposit for one year or longer, you should take a look at the CD rates at Eloan. Be sure to check the E-Loan online banking web site to find the most current rates available, as ELoan CD rates will change over time.

Sovereign Bank started as a Pennsylvania bank and now has over 700 branch offices throughout the Northeastern United States. So, we here at Highest CD Rates Info thought that we would take a look at Sovereign Bank CD Rates to see how they compare with the other CD interest rates that we have reviewed.

Although there are several types of Sovereign Bank certificates of deposit, the Sovereign CD Rates that we found most interesting were: (1) the Sovereign Bank Featured CD; and (2) The Sovereign Bank Rising Rate CD

(1) The Sovereign Bank Featured CD — This is currently a Sovereign Bank 12 Month CD that earns an Annual Percentage Yield of 3.75 percent. The minimum deposit for this 1 year CD is only $500.

(2) The Sovereign Bank Rising Rate CD — the most interesting of these to us was the Sovereign Bank 24 Month Rising Rate CD, that requires Sovereign Bank Premier Checking. This certificate of deposit earns an interest rate of 3.34 percent and an Annual Percentage Yield (APY) of 3.40 percent, with a minimum deposit of just $500. If you are interested in a Sovereign Bank Jumbo CD, with a deposit of $10,000 or more you can get this same 2 year CD with an interest rate of 3.44 percent and an APY of 3.50 percent.

While these may not be the best CD rates that we have ever reviewed, they are certainly respectable. So, if you are in the market for a 1 year CD or a 2 year CD, you may want to check out CD rates at Sovereign Bank. Be sure to check the Sovereign Bank online banking site for the current rates and terms available in your region.

Wells Fargo is a well known name in the financial world. Wells Fargo can trace its history back to the days of stage coaches, and today continues to offer a wide array of financial services. So, we here at Highest CD Rates Info decided to take a look at the Wells Fargo CD rates currently being offered.

Wells Fargo Bank basically offers two types of certificates of deposit: their Standard CDs and their Special Offer CDs. We will take a quick look at the Wells Fargo CD interest rates for both of these types of CDs.

The Wells Fargo Standard CDs start with a minimum deposit of $2,500, but have slightly higher rates if your minimum deposit is $10,000, and slightly higher rates still if you invest in a jumbo CD with a minimum investment of $100,000. The problem with these Standard CDs is, in our humble opinion, that the interest rates are just too low. The best CD rates that we found for the Standard CD is an Annual Percentage Yield (APY) of 2.35 percent for a 1 year 100,000 minimum deposit jumbo CD, and frankly, that’s lower than most of the other CDs that we have reviewed on this site (jumbo or not).

So, let’s move on to the Wells Fargo Bank CD rates on their Special Offer CDs. With these certificates of deposit, things start to get a little more interesting. The Wells Fargo Special Offer CDs all require a minimum deposit of $5,000. There is a 5 month Special CD with an Annual Percentage Yield of 2.60 percent, but honestly this is not that appealing to us either. There is also a 16 month Special CD with an APY of 3.20 percent, and a 25 month CD Special with an APY of 3.75 percent.

While those Special CD rates are an improvement over their Standard CD rates, they are still lower than many (if not most) of the other CDs that we have reviewed on this site. Also, it seems that there are not any Wells Fargo Bank CDs with a longer term than 25 months. However, you may find different rates and terms for your area than we did in ours, so be sure to check the Wells Fargo web site to see all of the offers available in your area.

Highest CD Rates Info decided to check into State Farm Bank CD rates to see how they stack up to the competition. Not that long ago (perhaps 10 years ago, now) insurance companies could not engage in banking business, but that has changed and we were eager to see how one of the largest insurance companies in the United States fared in our search for the best CD rates.

CD interest rates at State Farm Bank can basically be split into two categories: (1) traditional CD rates and (2) jumbo cd rates. State Farm traditional CDs require a minimum deposit of only $500 to open, whereas State Farm Bank jumbo CDs require a minimum deposit of $100,000. While State Farm CDs come in many different term lengths, we will focus on just a couple of interesting CDs.

One interesting CD that we found is the State Farm 9 month CD. In both the traditional CD and the jumbo CD, this “special CD” has an interest rate of 3.73 percent and an Annual Percentage Yield (APY) of 3.80 percent. That seems like a pretty attractive rate for a nine month CD.

If you are looking for longer term certificates of deposit for your CD ladder, you will be interested to know that State Farm 2, 3, 4 and 5 year CDs all have Annual Percentage Yields above 4.00 percent. The Jumbo CD rates tend to run about 0.05 percent higher than the traditional CD. Topping the list of State Farm CD interest rates is the jumbo 5 year CD, with an APY of 4.30 percent.

Therefore, if you are looking for either a traditional or jumbo CD, you might take a look at CD rates at State Farm Bank. Please remember that rates and terms can vary by location and change with time, so
check that State Farm online web site to confirm the deals available in your town.
