This is the first Pentagon Federal Credit Union CD rates update of the year being brought to you by Highest CD Rates. This financial institution was founded in 1935 to serve the needs of the US military personal and their families.

The Pentagon Federal Credit Union certificate of deposit rates are referred to as Money Market Certificates that are locked for the term of the deposit. This is not a money market savings account that allows 6 withdraws a month.

The current CD rates include the 6 month CD that is earning an APY of 0.50%. The 1 year CD is earning an APY of 1.00%. The 2 year CD is earning an APY of 1.25%. The 3 year CD is earning an APY of 1.50%.

The 4 year CD is earning an APY of 2.00%. The 5 year CD is earning an APY of 2.25%. The best CD rates are from the 7 year CD that is earning an APY of 2.75%.

Each of these CDs require a minimum deposit of $1,000 to obtain the stated APY. The 6 month CD is calculated with only simple interest. The remaining CDs are calculated with compound interest over the term of the investment.

The interest has to be added to the CD in order to obtain the stated APY. You can have the interest deposited into savings, checking or money market account but the APY will then only be the interest rate.

These Pentagon CD rates were current as of March 24, 2011 but are subject to change without notice.

Today at Highest CD Rates Info, we’re going to turn to look at the Pentagon Federal Credit Union CD rates being offered right now. Pentagon Federal calls their certificate of deposits Money Market Certificates. They are nearly identical to regular CDs, however.

CD rates at Pentagon Federal Credit Union are in terms from 6 months to 7 years with annual percentage yields (APY) competitive with national markets. All PFCU certificates require a $1,000 minimum deposit to open and maintain.

Pentagon Credit Union CD rates for a six month term are 0.75% APY and a one year term gives 1.26% APY. Highest CD rates for a 2 year term are 1.50% APY and for 3 years they’re 2.00% APY.

Pentagon Federal Credit Union CD rates for a 4 year term are 2.50% APY and for five years they are 2.75% APY. Finally, that 7 year term has highest CD rates of 3.49% APY.

The CD rates at Pentagon Federal Credit Union are subject to change at any time, of course, so if any of these highest CD rates appeal to you, lock yours in now. All Pentagon Federal Credit Union accounts are protected by the NCUA (the FDIC for credit unions).

Another bonus choice available is the ability to pay the dividends (interest) on your Pentagon Credit Union CD rates into the certificate, into another account, or sent to you as a check. You can also choose whether they are paid monthly or at the account’s maturity.

We aim to bring you some of the highest CD rates available in the market today so that you can make wise and informed financial decisions. In this endeavor, we will be turning our attention to PenFed certificate of deposit rates and the features that come with it,

Two kinds of certificates are offered by Pentagon Federal Credit Union and they are money market certificates and education savings certificate. There are many advantages in buying a money market certificate. You can lock in the rates for the specified period and this can earn you a good amount of interest. These certificates are insured up to $250,000 by FDIC. Another advantage is that the dividends are paid monthly or at the end of the maturity period, depending on your preference. You can directly transfer it to your checking or savings account or can even opt for a payout through a cheque.

The current rates for PenFed money market certificates are 1.02% APY for a 6 month period and 1.37% for a 1 year period. The current CD rates are 1.80% for a 2 year term, 2.50% for a 3 year term, 2.76% for a 4 year term, 3.00% for a 5 year term and 3.51% for a 7 year term respectively.
