*Editor’s Note: this is an older article, and we have recently updated our research about current Chase CD Rates.  For our latest article on Chase Bank CD Rates, please see the following page: Chase CD Rates

There are essentially two kinds of CD rates at Chase Bank: (1) the normal Chase certificate of deposit and (2) a group of CDs referred to as Chase CD Specials. We will a fast review of both types of Chase CDs.

Normal Chase CDs are available in several different terms up to 36 months in length. These Chase Bank CDs require a minimum deposit of $1,000. In our area, the highest rate available for these CDs is an Annual Percentage Yield (APY) of 3.00 percent (for the 36 month CD). While these rates do not strike us as horrible, they also do not appear exceptional to us.

However, the Chase CD Specials are another story entirely. The Chase Special CDs require a minimum investment of $10,000, yet they do offer some much more interesting CD interest rates. For example, the Chase 36 month Special CD has an Annual Percentage Rate of 4.00 percent. Also, the Chase 84 month CD Special has an Annual Percentage Rate of 5.00 percent. These are some of the best CD rates that we have seen recently.

Therefore, if a $10,000 minimum investment CD fits your investment needs, you may want to take a closer look at the Chase CD Specials. Because interest rates and other terms can differ by region and change with time, please check the Chase Bank web site to verify the most current CD rates available in your town.
