Wachovia Bank CD rates will soon become the CD rates offered by Wells Fargo. The company has acquired Wachovia Bank and the latter has lost its independent status as the final process of merger was completed in March 2010. Following are the bank cd rates as of April 19, 2010, and they are still offered by Wachovia under the parenthood of Wells Fargo.

People looking for best CD rates at Wachovia will have to invest in its 58-month special CD where they can earn up to 3.00% APY with a minimum deposit of $5,000. Highest CD Rates are also available on the 34-month investment where people can earn as high as 2.00% APY.

Wachovia Bank CD Rates for fixed rate investments are at par with the market standards. A 1-year investment at the bank is estimated to return an APY of 0.40%. Customers looking for a minimal duration of investment can also invest in the 6-month CD where they will receive an APY of 0.20%; 9-month CDs also return the same APY at 0.20%.

Wachovia CD rates for an 18-month investment are estimated at 0.60%; 2-year investment at the bank willreturn an APY of 0.70%.

The bank imposes penalty on early withdrawals and violation of other rules and regulations. Penalties are imposed in a standard manner with an early withdrawal in 1-year CD results in the deduction of 90 days interest. Withdrawals from CDs greater than a year will see a deduction of 180 days interest in case of early withdrawal.
