The two specials for SunTrust certificate of deposit rates right now are for the 25 month and the 59 month CDs. These return a 2.25% and 3.00% annual percentage yield (APY), respectively. They both have a minimum opening balance of $2,000 required and flexible interest payment methods. You can let the interest accumulate, have it auto-deposited to a separate account, or withdraw it at intervals.
Another offer from SunTrust Bank CD rates worth looking into is the Bump Up CD. These are like regular CDs except they allow you to “bump up” the rate of return during the lifetime of the CD if rates climb during your CD’s term. This allows you to take advantage of the highest CD rates avaialble should the rates jump while your CD is still locked into its term.
The payoff for this is the auto-renewal of the CD. The SunTrust Bank CD rates will go to the current rate for that term when renewing, but over the longer term, this Bump Up can still be a good investment. So consider your options when making a decision.
Like all SunTrust CD rates, these rates are subject to change with the fluctuating market. Check for the current, highest CD rates before locking yours in. All SunTrust accounts are FDIC insured.
