While that minimum investment is somewhat on the high end, in our opinion that 4 percent APY seems like an excellent rate on such a short term CD.
The Wachovia Featured Certificate of Deposit with a twelve month term sports an interest rate of 4.16 percent and an Annual Percentage Yield of 4.25 percent. This CD also requires a minimum investment of $5,000, which again seems a bit high — but this Wachovia CD rate really has one of the highest CD rates that we have seen for a 12 month CD.
